A Sunny Monday in Yongkang Street

A Sunny Monday in Yongkang Street

A Slow and Soothing Mediterranean Afternoon at rooTi

We visited rooTi for the first time on a Monday noon

Though it was our first time, stepping into the space felt strangely familiar — sunlight streamed in through large windows, the air carried the scent of fresh olive oil and roasted vegetables, and the clean white walls made everything feel calm and warm.

It was easy to slow down

rooTi is a newly opened Mediterranean restaurant nestled in a quiet alley of Yongkang Street. Just a ten-minute walk from Dongmen Station, yet it feels like a corner of southern Europe. Pale stone paths and soft-colored buildings make the whole street feel like a scene from a travel journal.

Many are drawn to the idea of Mediterranean cuisine:

Seasonal vegetables, fresh scallops from Hokkaido, and extra virgin olive oil from Italy. One of the highlights? A starter made with amberjack, radish, and leche de tigre. The fish is cured in citrus, topped with smoked mayo and thin radish strips—it’s refreshing, tender, and leaves a bright, zesty finish.

Like tasting sunlight and sea breeze.

Where design and food blend into everyday moments

This time, haoshi’s Migratory Birds Clock quietly landed on rooTi’s wall. As light moves across the space, the flock of birds casts gentle shadows—like time slowly drifting through the afternoon.

The clock features seven birds in mid-flight, forming a soft “C” shape, symbolizing love, focus, and togetherness. More than a timepiece, it’s a gentle reminder to feel the rhythm of life.

Instead of a traditional round clock, this design moves with the flow of life — a living scene on the wall that leaves a quiet impression.

At rooTi, we installed dozens of white birds to form a full flock in motion.

Time is hidden in one of them.

As light shifts, the shadows follow—
this simple design becomes the most poetic part of the space.

A quiet moment shared with haoshi

By the piano, you’ll find another familiar piece: the Deer Vase. The deer stands tall, still and calm, holding a few fresh green stems. It brings a sense of softness and peace, contrasting the lively motion of the birds.

Music gently plays from the piano and violin nearby, and a subtle scent fills the air—carefully chosen to pair with the food. Together, they form a quiet sensory feast.

We love moments like this :

Simple, calm, but full of soul.

Sometimes just being in a beautiful space can make you feel grounded. People who carry that calmness—don’t they look beautiful too?

haoshi hopes to bring more softness and beauty into your everyday life — and we’re happy to share this gentle Monday noon with you.

Sometimes, finding your own rhythm in life is the truest kind of happiness.

Maybe a Migrantbird X CLOCK is just the reminder you need.
